Whole-person psychiatric care
A Lifestyle-Informed Approach to Psychiatric Care.
Alcohol & Nicotine Support is offered as part of Balanced Mind Mental Health’s existing outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication-management services.
Care considers how alcohol and nicotine interact with mood, sleep, stress, and hormonal health. Our approach combines appropriate psychiatric care with lifestyle-focused education and brief behavioral support to help eligible adults work toward healthier habits.
Alcohol and nicotine support are provided within our existing outpatient psychiatric services, not as a separate substance-use treatment program.

The Lifestyle Medicine Connection
This service is informed by Avoidance of Risky Substances, one of the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine.
Reducing unhealthy alcohol use and quitting nicotine may support emotional well-being, restorative sleep, stress management, physical health, and healthier daily routines. At BMMH, these goals are considered alongside mood, medical history, medications, and everyday habits as part of a whole-person approach to psychiatric care.

Important Information
Balanced Mind Mental Health does not provide detoxification, alcohol withdrawal management, opioid use disorder treatment, or intensive addiction treatment. If more specialized or medically supervised treatment is needed, we will recommend appropriate medical resources.
Abruptly stopping heavy alcohol use can cause dangerous withdrawal symptoms. Seek medical guidance before stopping if you drink heavily or may be at risk for withdrawal.
