Balanced Mind Weight ManagementRx™
Lifestyle Psychotherapy for Women
Weight and wellbeing involve more than calories or willpower. If lasting change has felt difficult before, sleep, stress, hormones, emotional patterns, and daily habits may all be part of the picture.
In Balanced Mind Weight ManagementRx™, “Rx” refers to an individualized Lifestyle Prescription developed as part of lifestyle psychotherapy. It does not mean weight-loss medication, GLP-1 prescribing, or a medical weight-loss program.
A Focused Approach to Lifestyle Change
Balanced Mind Weight ManagementRx™ is a self-pay lifestyle psychotherapy service for adult women age 18 and older. It uses structured, goal-focused therapy to support sustainable behavior change in areas such as sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, metabolic health, and hormonal or life-stage factors.
Care is collaborative and individualized. Together, you identify what is getting in the way, choose realistic priorities, and work toward changes that can work in everyday life.

You Know What to Do. So Why Is It So Hard to Do It?
Knowing what supports your health does not always make change easy. Daily demands, competing priorities, established routines, and the realities of everyday life can all shape whether good intentions become lasting behaviors.
Weight ManagementRx™ helps you identify the patterns that keep getting in the way, understand where change is possible, and develop realistic strategies that work in your life.
Understand the Pattern. Change the Behavior. Build the Lifestyle.
As we begin to understand the pattern, the EMPOWER™ pathway guides how we turn that understanding into practical change.

What Lifestyle Psychotherapy Looks Like
Sessions focus on what feels hardest right now and where a realistic change might make a difference. You may work on improving your sleep routine, feeling more at ease with eating patterns that have become reactive or overly restrictive, finding movement that fits your life, or adjusting to changes during perimenopause and menopause.
Together, you choose one or two practical steps to try, and then look at what helped, what got in the way, and what to adjust next.
Your Lifestyle Prescription
After assessment, you may receive a personalized Lifestyle Prescription, a short-term behavioral plan developed together to advance your broader treatment goal.
It usually begins with one meaningful action based on Lifestyle Medicine principles. At follow-up, you review what helped, work through what got in the way, and continue or adjust the plan.
If something did not happen, that is information, not failure.
Who It’s For
This may be the right match if you want to work on sleep, stress, eating patterns, movement, or other daily habits and are in a place where you can focus on making those changes.
You may also be managing PCOS, PMDD, perimenopause, prediabetes, or mild to moderate depression or anxiety. These may be part of the context for your lifestyle goals and do not rule you out. Weight ManagementRx™ focuses on the daily patterns around those conditions, not on treating the conditions themselves.

When Another Service May Better Meet Your Needs
Weight ManagementRx™ is focused on lifestyle behavior change. If your primary need is something different, it helps to know where that care belongs before treatment begins.
Available through Balanced Mind Mental Health
Psychiatric evaluation and medication management are available separately through Balanced Mind Mental Health when clinically appropriate, including care for depression, anxiety, PMDD, and other mental health conditions when psychiatric treatment is the primary need. Weight ManagementRx™ does not include medication management.
When additional or specialized care is needed
Weight ManagementRx™ does not provide emergency or crisis care, specialized treatment for eating disorders or substance use, trauma-focused therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or long-term psychotherapy. Medical weight-loss treatment, medical nutrition therapy, and care for complex gastrointestinal, endocrine, or metabolic conditions also require a separate provider or service.
If you are already receiving treatment for depression, anxiety, or another mental health condition, Weight ManagementRx™ is not intended to replace that care. Whether this program is appropriate alongside your current treatment is reviewed individually.
Pregnancy
Balanced Mind Weight ManagementRx™ is not currently offered during pregnancy. Postpartum, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, and anticipating pregnancy are reviewed individually. If pregnancy occurs during treatment, please let the practice know so care can be reassessed and appropriate next steps can be coordinated.
For crisis support, call or text 988. For immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. This outpatient service does not provide emergency care.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. Weight ManagementRx™ is not a medical weight-loss program and does not prescribe or manage GLP-1 or other weight-loss medications. The focus is lifestyle behavior change and overall wellbeing.
Weight management is part of the focus, but it is approached through lifestyle psychotherapy rather than a traditional weight-loss program. The focus is on sustainable behavior change that supports both weight and overall wellness.
No. Weight ManagementRx™ may address eating habits and nutrition-related behaviors as part of lifestyle therapy, but it does not provide medical nutrition therapy or dietitian services. When appropriate, you may be referred to a registered dietitian or another specialist.
Yes. Balanced Mind Weight ManagementRx™ is a focused, goal-oriented psychotherapy service centered on lifestyle and behavior change. Unlike general, ongoing psychotherapy, treatment is structured around specific goals such as sleep, stress, eating patterns, movement, routines, motivation, and other daily behaviors that affect wellbeing.
It is not intended for broad or long-term psychotherapy needs such as trauma-focused treatment, couples therapy, or general ongoing therapy for depression or anxiety.
No. Weight concerns may be part of your work, but they don’t have to be the primary goal. Many women come in focused on sleep, stress, or daily routines rather than weight.
Weight ManagementRx™ is currently a self-pay service and does not bill insurance. Current fees are listed in the pricing section above. Upon request, a superbill may be provided for you to submit to your insurance plan for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your plan.
Yes. Weight ManagementRx™ is a separate service with its own focus, its own intake, and its own self-pay fees. Your psychiatric care continues as it is. Weight ManagementRx™ would be additional work focused on lifestyle and behavior change and is scheduled separately.
Balanced Mind Weight ManagementRx™ is not currently offered during pregnancy. Postpartum, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, and anticipating pregnancy are reviewed individually.
It depends on what you’re working on and how things are progressing. Many people start with visits every few weeks, then space them out as they become more confident maintaining changes on their own. There is no set number of sessions.
That is part of the work, not a reason to give up. If something is not working, we look at what got in the way, whether the plan was realistic, and what may need to change. Difficulty following through gives us useful information about the pattern and helps guide the next step.
Start with what matters to you.
You do not need to change everything at once.
Start with one meaningful priority and a brief Discovery Call.
